Re: Export data from cocreate to different formats

Off the top of my head: STL, VRML, IGES, STEP, DXF, DWG, several image file formats, ACIS SAT, Parasolids, UG NX, CATIA v4 and v5, SolidWorks, Inventor, Pro/E, PCB, I-deas, XVL, PDF, Solid Edge, eDrawings. Which am I forgetting?

That looks pretty complete, but it might be good to mention that some of these are not supported by standard Modeling and require purchase of additional licenses.

3D formats exported by standard Modeling
STEP
IGES
ACIS (SAT)
STL
IsoDraw
PCB (Printed Circuit Board) EIF or IDF
eDrawings (standard)

2D formats exported by standard Annotation
DXF (AutoCAD)
DWG (AutoCAD)
IGES 2D
eDrawings 2D

2D formats printed by standard Annotation
PDF
Postscript
Clipboard (for paste into other applications)
HPGL
HPGL2
HPGL2/RTL

3D formats which require purchase of additional license
3D PDF & U3D
Unigraphics NX (parasolid)
CATIA V4
CATIA V5
Solidworks (parasolid)
Autodesk Inventor
PTC Pro/Engineer
I-deas
SolidEdge
P-XVL & V-XVL
eDrawings Professional

Re: Export data from cocreate to different formats

For most people, the easiest approach to automate tasks is to record an interactive command sequence (which will expose the required APIs), and then to edit the recorded result.

See http://www.clausbrod.de/OneSpaceModeling/MacroModelClipping for additional hints on how to proceed from a recorded command sequence to an automated function.

Re: Export data from cocreate to different formats

We've been using STEP from CoCreate into UGNX-3 and UGNX-5. Things are working well for the most part.

On a few trouble some parts, we have used the ACIS (SAT) from CoCreate into SolidWorks and then ParaSolid into UGNX.

Re: Export data from cocreate to different formats

HI,
Thanks for you reply.
Can we do batch translation of cocreate model to step in the full version of Cocreate.
Is there any out of the box tool with the full version available.
Please let me know the detailed procedure of the same.
Thanks

Re: Export data from cocreate to different formats

In the discussion at http://cocreateusers.org/forum/showthread.php?t=7298 (same topic), two solutions were suggested:
  • Task Agent
  • A simple Lisp-based conversion loop

Did you try any of these?

Re: Export data from cocreate to different formats

If you're looking for a solution that is ready-to-go with many features but is still very easy to use, our AI Export module may be just what you're looking for.

In summary, AI Export allows you to save multiple parts to multiple formats in a single operation -- supporting all output formats that are supported by CoCreate Modeling (STEP, SAT, 3D PDF, etc), including the CAD-specific adapters (SW, etc).

If you'd like to try it out, we have a demo version available for download on our website. The demo version has some usage restrictions, but it should give you a feel for how it works and how easy it is to use. Here's the direct link to the product page: http://www.asp-inno.com/prod_export.html.

Enjoy!
