New parts not showing in annotation

Hello, new guy here.

First of all, Ive had no formal training on this SW so my apologies if this is an elementary question.

in a nutshell:
We added new parts to our assembly.

In annotation, they do not appear after updating the view.

I clicked "manage parts" and selected the new parts within the structure browser. They appear in the 3D VP. I click OK and update VP again.

New parts still do not appear.

When I go back to "manage parts" I see that the new parts are no longer checked off in the structure browser.

Can someone please help? Thanks.
