EXPLODE - How does this work?

Currently, I have a model and an MI file created last year by a previous designer. The model has an EXPLODE1.

Working on the next revision, I've added another part/componet to the assembly. When added, the new part/component does not EXPLODE. How to add this new part/component to the EXPLODE1?

The MI file shows the EXPLODE, but the new part/component isn't exploded for the views.

Re: EXPLODE - How does this work?

Are you saying that you have a configuration named EXPLODE1?
If so, you need to make sure your new parts belong to the assembly that owns the configuration. Then make that configuration active. When the configuration is active, you can move your new parts to the location(s) you desire.
When you make the configuration inactive, the parts should return to their proper positions. 2D view(s) that are created from a configuration will show the parts in the locations the parts have been moved to while the configuration is active.

Read the Configurations overview in the help files.

Re: EXPLODE - How does this work?

Mike,

Thanks a bunch! The name of it was EXPLODE1, so naturally, I had thought that the term was EXPLODE and searched the help that way.

So, the term is Configuration. I'll check it out.

Re: EXPLODE - How does this work?

Mike,

This is one function I'm actually impress with in CoCreate. It was easy and simple to do. Normally, I'm banging my head on the desk trying to get things to work. haha

Thanks for input!

Re: EXPLODE - How does this work?

Hi, Maverick.

I wonder if you could see the webinar here.

Nuts_and_Bolts_3D_Configurations.wmv
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86x62vbqf3U

It says succeeded on uploading, but I cannot see any youtube from my office, since IT guys are blocking movies.

Cheers.

Edit:
So, sorry. Youtube rejected the video because it's too long.
