Model Manager MM_QUEUE clogging multiple times per week
Our Model Manager V17 M030 mm_queue clogs up several times per week. This is a nuisance as we have to unclog it manually via the multiple tools for this purpose....sometimes it is more than a nuisance because we have to clear out notifications that would otherwise be sent.
...does anyone know that the deal is on this? This happened in V15.5 also. We've talked to Fort Collins support but there is no known explanation as far as we can tell. We have made sure that there are no invalid email addresses in our user base, etc. I hope the developers in Germany are working on at least identifying how we can track down the cause. I have a custom application that "checks" the mm-queue for a blockage every 15 minutes so that we can at least react quickly... |

Re: Model Manager MM_QUEUE clogging multiple times per week
Support is aware of 1 issue (in 18.0 ) where some MM_QUEUE entries take a very long time to process, but eventually they do continue in this case.
If you have a hang which never recovers then I would suggest entering a call with PTC support and provide the database dump (as well as the files) when its hung. In 18.0 the MM_QUEUE processor was re-written to remove many of the concurrency issues that existed in previous versions, as well as improving error handling and error reporting. One thing to note in 18.0 is that any custom transaction listener needs to be changed so that errors and retries are handled by the listener itself. The new handling no longer blindly retries any operations. |
