IntelliMouse two button assignment...problem.
Hi.
I got my Desktop PC windows XP down. The mouse was Intellimouse Optical which has 2 additional buttons. I configured using Control panel's mouse dialog for these two buttons to Ctrl and Shift, so that it works for CoCreate. But when I used it for my W2K backup computer, it does not show that dialog. And the driver is working fine. So the buttons are working web page previous and next only. I cannot configure anymore. I tried to setup version 6.2 but the current driver 5.2 does not let it work. I have no choice than to use keyboard Ctrl / Shift or Space Navigator, now. Anyone got any experience like this?

Re: IntelliMouse two button assignment...problem.
These microsoft mouse come with a program that, when running, allows you to define the mouse button functions. The program is called ipoint. I have found ipoint to be completely incompatable with Modeling. Previous to 15.50, Modeling would hang if ipoint was running. With 15.50 (I also moved to Vista) it no longer hangs, but the mouse button functions in Modeling just won't work if ipoint is running. Maybe I am doing something wrong, but I really don't think your button assignments will work in Modeling.

Re: IntelliMouse two button assignment...problem.
I've seen two similar reports in the past. A potentially related discussion at http://www.microsoft.com/communities...b6e099aafd&p=1 suggests this is a general problem with 3D apps, not just OSM. (I don't have Intellimouse hardware, though, so I cannot verify this yet.)

Re: IntelliMouse two button assignment...problem.
This sounds similar to a problem I was having with an Intillimouse Explorer USB. I had to install an older version of the Intellipoint software.
I have the same mouse at home where I've moved to Vista, and have completely lost the ability to remap the buttons. |

Re: IntelliMouse two button assignment...problem.
Thank you all your responses.
In my case V14.50 woked fine with Intellimoue Optical software v5.2 with WinXP SP2. I temporaly have this desktop PC down for repare, and I could not install the Ver5.2 mouse software with my secondary laptop W2K. Luckly, I have gotten the free support phone line connected at Tokyo yesterday which I have never even thought of being possible, the support just told me that I have no driver issue but I simply have previous unknown mouse software which include touch pad. Then I found a mouse software install trace but somehow the software was removed by my mistake. ( I must have removed it manually and installation record is only shown somewhere) So I searched the software and I downloaded the same one( lucky enough) and installed it, then I uninstalled it. After the above procedure, I could easily install Microsoft's software and I could assign Ctrl and Shift for both DD and OSD. So far I have not tried yet... I hope it works fine.
