old ME10 files to DXF/IGES?
I found some of my old ME10 files on tape I'd like to convert to DXF or IGES for use. it was in the 90's and we used ME10 on HP-UX or MS DOS. I think it was ver 5 or 6.
now some of the files have an MI extention and those I know I can convert with a MI to DXF tool but the othes are the old native format? someone indicated they might be just MI compressed? is there a tool to go from compressed to uncompressed? Last edited by racer99; 04-19-2011 at 05:47 AM. |

Re: old ME10 files to DXF/IGES?
MI files are compressed with gzip or zlib.
You can either change the file extention to .z or add a .z extention to any of your compressed files that do not have an extention. Then you can use zlib or gzip or winzip to uncompress the file. If you use winzip to uncompress one of these files, you will get an error message asking you for the file name. Use the original name with a .mi extention. |

thats awesome thanks! anyone know a good place to download the old mi2dxf ot mi2iges tools? I know I have a copy somewhere, just havent found it.
and just to save time, I dont have a working copy of me10 ( though I'd love one ) so I need something that will let me convert outside of me10. |
