Re: On-demand Getting Started Webinars

David,

I went the the URL www.cocreate.com/webinars
and I tried to find these webinars, but searching for "Getting started PE" and various other combinations didn't find them (as of today, 16Aug2008.) Could you please post the full URLs for these? ANd/or email those to me.

Although somebody I trust recommended PE to me, I'm finding it highly cryptic and unintuitive -- pointers to *any* relevant documentation would be a great help.
Similarly, some context would IMHO be of great benefit: How does "CoCreate Modelling Personal Edition" relate to all the other packages/tools that DO seem to have more documentation? Which (if any) are the same, or at least usefully similar?

Thank you,

Larry Pfeffer

Re: On-demand Getting Started Webinars

David,

Thanks for your prompt reply -- those sound very useful, if only I could access them!
I seem to be in some sort of limbo re your system(s) -- I seem to be incompletely registered/recognized. I am (or at least was) registered sufficiently to download the PE app, and to post here, however, when I attempt to download one of the webinars (now that I'm registered on the forums, at least) the links are visible.

When I try downloading a webinar, I'm asked for my username/password (reasonable).
But when I enter them, not only are they not accepted, the "forgot password" system claims it's never heard of my email addrress -- so something strange (or not at-all well explained) is going on. Here's what I get (I hope the cut/paste of HTML comes through. Note (assuming it comes through visibly, that my email address is unknown. And I'm regularly getting marketing come-ons from PTC at this very same email address.

Can you suggest anything I can do to get out of registration/access limbo???

Thanks much,

Larry Pfeffer

Exclamation Re: On-demand Getting Started Webinars

Your CoCreate Modeling PE email address and password is completely separate from the Web site registration you need to watch a Webinar.

Sorry for the confusion. Please complete the second registration form.

In the future, all this registration will be consolidated under PTC.com.

Re: On-demand Getting Started Webinars

David,

Do I understand correctly that there are not one, not two, but three *separate* passwords for PE download, forums, and webinars, respectively? If I'm mis-understanding, could you please clarify what's needed to access the materials you mentioned?

If these are in fact all separate registrations, it would be a significant kindness to MENTION this somewhere, and CALL THEM SOMETHING CLEARLY DISTINCT, TO CLUE PEOPLE IN THAT THEY'RE DIFFERENT!

PS I've tried about 9 times to change my passwords (on the first two, at least) to match, but the systems don't seem to change anything. This seems to me to be needless hurdles/frustrations to put in front of new users. I'd appreciate it if you'd indicate such to whoever designed these multiple systems -- they're an obstacle.

Exclamation Re: On-demand Getting Started Webinars

You're absolutely correct, and there's even 1 more.

Here are the 4 separate registrations:

1. CoCreate Modeling PE initial download and subsequent sign in
https://apps.cocreate.com/OneSpaceModelingPE/signin.cfm

2. CoCreate Modeling PE Fourm (PTC sponsored)
http://apps.cocreate.com/OneSpaceModelingPE/Secure/Forum/category-view.asp

3. CoCreate User Forum (International and independent from PTC)
http://cocreateusers.org/forum

4. Online demos and Webinars from CoCreate.com URLs
http://www.cocreate.com/learn/Demos/Intuitive_Explicit_Modeling_Demo.aspx
http://www.cocreate.com/learn/Demos/Part_Assembly_Modeling_Demo.aspx
http://www.cocreate.com/learn/Demos/Modeling_with_Imported_3d_data_Demo.aspx
http://www.cocreate.com/learn/2007_Getting_Started_PE1.aspx

Re: On-demand Getting Started Webinars

David,

Thanks for making the separate registrations clear -- without that (IMHO less than obvious) bit of context info, it seemed like these systems were inconsistent/haunted!

A related note: before I registered for this forum, your original post displayed to me without the URLs visible, but (after I registered) they became visible. So, non-registered viewers (as I was, before) may not be able to see key useful info (unless this is a peculiarity of my browser/settings -- unlikely, but possible.)

Knowing that another separate registration was needed, I was able to watch the getting started PE 1 webinar, and that's been quite helpful.

Thanks again,

Larry Pfeffer,

I can see the URLs without logging in.

Wink Re: On-demand Getting Started Webinars

As requested, while we were exchanging comments, I fixed my first thread by adding the full URLs. Therefore, now they're visable.
