Ref line from one view to another

I have two views. I want to put a reference line frome one view to the other. Is there a standard procedure to do so?

Now i use the title of the view as object and i put a line (in magenta = invisible for our printer) in the other view (but owner = first view)

Is there a standard procedure to do so?

Re: Ref line from one view to another

reference line across views are not allowed, They can not be handled when one view is updated.

What you can use is a so called "Leader Line". This looks like reference line but it does not have the associativity.
PHP Code:
(load "am_leader"
Add this to your am_customize file. You'll get an entry in the tool box. The UserInterface is quite similar to the one of reference lines. But creating the lines does not stop/finish when you click on a line. You have to specify manually where it shoud end. -- Later when moving view A or view B the leader lines keeps as it is (== no associativity). But all the other behaviour, settings, properties are the same as real reference lines. Once created you do not see any difference between reference line and leader line.... until the elements (associated with a ref line) are moving.

uuhhh why I'am typing so much : have a look -> http://osd.cad.de/lisp_2d.en.htm#07

Re: Ref line from one view to another

Thx wolfgang. Seems indeed you love to type

Another problem is that you still need text to start from. If you need to draw a ref line from one view to another without text it seems to me that it is not possible. Or is it?

No, it should still work. Create Leader should only need either text or any other Owner. I've set it to a View or even the active Sheet, for example.

Re: Ref line from one view to another

May is right!

In contrast to create reference line create leader line UI offers the choice to select
  • either a source element (text/symbol)
  • or an owner (as for other manually created elements)
