Re: info - rumor
There are some info concerning PTC Product Calendar on PTC official web site.
16.50 Q3/Q4 2009 17.00 Q2/Q3 2010 We are on 2009, and the latest PTC/CoCreate release is still named 2008! Not a pretty good introduction for prospects Most of competitors are already selling 2010 versions (AutoCAD) or investigating further ahead. I've no rumor by the way. |

Re: info - rumor
Read the press and blog roll from PTC user and you should be able to figure it out. WF 5.0 gets direct edit technology similar to SolidWorks instang 3D; WF 6.0 gets a history free model just like NX/SolidEdge. I think you can read between the lines on that one.

Re: info - rumor
I think it’s great that Autodesk and Wildfire are introducing direct editing, maybe if we are really lucky Cocreate will wave a magic wand and allow you to have a dynamic link between a parts, say a casting and a machined part for example, that combined with the "frankfurter and krautt" interface will keep the company solvent / relevant.

They will not keep "2008 etc." Instead the official name will be smth. like "CoCreate Modeling 17". Regards CAD97 |

Re: info - rumor
16.50 is starting Beta test. We will be testing it with customer's issues in support alongside our current version.
17.00 is in Alpha test, and contains quite a few changes. I've seen a demo of it, and it's very impressive. (sorry, no hints) CoCreate will follow PTC's lead and not use the current year to designate a version. That was a big marketing thing back in 2000, but it's time has come and gone. |
