healing shells ?
I've been exporting stl files ready for prototype 3d printing , and would like to use the highest definition possible ( a filesize of under 5Mb) . When I check my stl objects using Minimagics stl viewer , it tells me the part is OK at low resolution (when it shows 1 shell) but that there is a problem as the resolution gets higher , ( 2 or 4 shells). I think this means there are small holes in the part , which I think can be healed in some software with a healing menu option . Is there some way of doing this in Onespace Pe ? Or maybe I've got the shell thing wrong and my problem is elsewhere . Can anyone help?
Thanks. |

Re: healing shells ?
Hmm , not much joy here . I think I may have done the job by simply going in very close and looking for any anomalies . I also found a free programme called Meshlab that had a manifold healing option and between the two I think I've fixed it .
