Red face Problem with section as a partial or broken view

I had to copy a current design to a new one.

The 3D model and drawing MI already exsisted. Thus, in Annotation I had copied the drawing via Attach Drawing > To Variant. Everything went well. I've then Modified Drawing > Number to a new number. Went back to the Modeling side, removed the original design.

Now, at this stage, the copied and new name 3D model and the new Number Mi file kept their links and viewports. Everything had the good blue fonts.

Things didn't go well when I did a View > Update. It seems only one view went bad. It was a section view that was also a partial or broken type. The previous designers made this file back in March of this year. So, it is in the same release, 15. The view seemed to reset itself upon update.

How do I get the view back to being a partial or broken section type. The manual cut lines are show there. I have no idea what to do next. I've spent an hour reading the forums and the documentation too.

See the attached images.

Re: Problem with section as a partial or broken view

Nobody has a direct answer after 44 views on this thread?

There heas to be a way to make the good section because the previous drafter made it in CoCreate. Of course, the person is no longer with the company to ask.

I'll await to mid-afternoon and then call the support number if need be. This hasn't been an urgent job, but will need to be completed before the end of this short week.

If you're on support, please open a call and save the whole thing as a bundle and send it in.
Gary.

Will do Gary. I'll have something going tomorrow. ... I'm kind of stuck between to hot jobs at the moment too.

Re: Problem with section as a partial or broken view

What I had learned ...

In annotation, place the full view onto the drawing. Next, do a Full => Partial view.

When it requires the Partial Border input, you will see the mouse cursor change along with three trailing dots. Do a right mouse click and loop in your boundry or click on geometry in the view (the part or other lines, arcs ...)

Yes since I have absolutely no formal training in CoCreate. I've been running by "the seat of my pants" as the saying goes.

I was chosen to work in CoCreate rather than electing to jump into it. haha

Hope you are studying all the "what_news" documents of the previous 2..3 version from time to time..

---------------------

The three-dots-next-to-cursor indicates that there is a command specific context menu (so using right mouse button shows the options). Several commands offered over there are just for convenience and duplicated from the UI, or they are over there since its' handy to have some there and not (only) in the UI at the right hand menu pane.

For Annotation ...
* every dimension creation action offer the dim-direction in the "..."-menu (and some more)
* every move command offer the horizontal-vertical etc. move options in the "..."-menu
* there are several more.

In general the IKIT function sd-set-cmd-specific-context-menu-entries is doing it's job.

When using machining (module), or as example of the IKIT function have a look to http://osd.cad.de/lisp_3d.en.htm#48, too.
