re: Saving mi file to pdf?

Theresa, If you have the full Acrobat program, which includes the distiller, a printer device is set up for you as a choice in the Windows printer dialog box, and it's as simple as selecting that as your output printer. I believe there are also some PDF shareware programs available, and Darren Litherland's homepage lists a PDF program as well. Hope this helps. Bruce

re: Saving mi file to pdf?

Hi Theresa, I use ghost-script tool (http://www.cs.wisc.edu/~ghost) in combination with Redmon printer redirection tool (http://www.ghostgum.com.au). It is used as common windows printer driver, and it is a little bit hard to install (only for novices), but it is quite simple to work with and free of charge. All instructions to install are in redmon program help. Hope this will help you. Damjan

re: Saving mi file to pdf?

Hello Theresa,

I know exactly what you are looking for.

PDFAssistant

It's Darren Litherlands latest macro that deals with creating .pdf files in ME10.

The key to generating .pdf files is first to create PostScript (printer) files
- with correct orientation and drawing format.
This is the hard part. PDFAssistant does this job for you.
The easy part is the creation of PDF files from PostScript files.

You really should check PDFA out. It's Amazing!

On UNIX or LINUX plot your mi file with a postcript printer then translate it in pdf with ghostscript.

re: Saving mi file to pdf?

I believe that if you buy Adobe Publisher, a printer driver is included. This driver "prints" to a pdf file as opposed to a physical device.

Which printer driver should I use? The PDF created from the ones I've tried display the paper vertically.

re: Saving mi file to pdf?

This orientation problem is typical if ME10 and the printer driver are not configured correctly. PDFAssistant makes sure that everything is perfectly tuned for both landscape and portrait AND any format.
