Select Subaction

I am looking at the (get_selection) command in the Integration Kit help. Where can I find more information on the (:select) -->|select subaction| portion of this command?

Re: Select Subaction

Did you already try
ms-its:C:\Programmi\CoCreate\OneSpace%20Modeling%202007\help\osdm\HtmlHelp\...language...\OSDM_CommonDoc.chm::/integration_kit/reference/get_selection.html ?

Re: Select Subaction

Yes. That is were I am at. But there are no details on the (:SELECT) |select subaction portion.

Further down the page it shows
:select
:selected_part part-sel-item

What are the possible entries for "part-sel-item"?

Re: Select Subaction

A selection item represents a previously (!) selected or inquired object, such as a part or workplane.

For inspiration: I've got a trivial example for using get_selection on my FAQ site at http://www.clausbrod.de/OneSpaceModeling/MacroGetSelection

Re: Select Subaction

The get_selection help does a good job of showing all the possible entries for :FOCUS_TYPE. Where is the detailed list of possible entries for :SELECT?

I see entries like :recursive :in_assembly :current_part. What are the rest?

Re: Select Subaction

Load and run the recorder to record the current session. Click the Select icon in the UI, then choose some of the options in the Select menu. If I remember correctly (I'm not 100% sure here), these are the kind of options you can specify in the call to get_selection (following the :select keyword).

Re: Select Subaction

Claus,
could that macro be modified to show results of "sd-inq-item-attribute"?

Thanks.

Re: Select Subaction

Sure, just replace sd-inq-obj-basename with sd-inq-item-attribute, and specify the additional parameters for sd-inq-item-attribute, such as the attribute name etc.
