How to move ME10
I have a copy of ME10 on a Windows NT machine. It's pretty old, and I'm getting nervous about it going dead one of these days. Can I move the software to a XP or Windows 7 machine? What do I need and how can i move it?

Re: How to move ME10
do you know how it's licensed? do you have a dongle attached to the computer? do you get your license from a network license server, or is the license server on the NT machine?
moving ME10 is easy, moving the license could be the stumbling block. |

Not a dongle. Not a server, the license is on the machine.

Re: How to move ME10
As long as you have the install disks and just upgrade the machine to a newer version of operating system you will probably be OK. The license is generally tied to the network card in the computer. If you are moving to a new computer you will need to work with PTC to reassign the license to the new computer. I'm not sure how helpful they'll be if you're no longer on support, but I'm slightly optimistic that they'd still help. Another option might be to just point the new computer to the old computer, maintaining the old computer on your network simply as a license server.
