Talking Rendering materials - how to rotate?

Hi folks,

Using the rendering module in version 15.5 - love it a lot! Is there any way to rotate the "grain direction" of materials applied to a part/model? It sure doesn't look natural when something like a wood-grain is running across the short axis of a rectangular part.

Thanks!

Re: Rendering materials - how to rotate?

You can copy and edit the material (right click menu when selecting material). If you already have the material assigned to the part, it will ask you if you want to convert the parts to the new material - hit 'yes'. Assuming that you are not using a laminate, you can specify the trunk direction and offset in the dialog that appears, which will change the orientation and positioning of the grain on your part.

You might have to change your materials editor level to "advanced" to get access to these settings, I don't recall. Either way, its a good idea. This can be found in the Rendering Settings dialog.
