Re: New Computer Recomendations
Dell Percision T7500 Workstation
- Win-7 Pro w/ XP Mode Media, 64-bit OS - Quad Core Xeon E5620, 2.4Ghz, 12M, L3, 5.86GT/s, turbo (best balanced Quad Core that has turbo to 3.33Ghz) - Office Pro 2010 - 12Gb DDR3 RDIMM 1333Mhz, ECC (6 DIMMS) -2.5GB nVidia Quadro 5000, Dual Mon, 2DP, & 1 DVI - HDD-1 1-TB SATA 3.0Gb/s, 7200 RPM w/ 32Mb databurst cache - HDD-2 250Gb SATA 3.0Gb/s, w/ NCQ and 8Mb databurst cache (scratch space for our FEA ANSYS on the same machine + Virtual RAM space put here) - DVD +/- RW 16X - System recover DVD - System recovery media (drivers) - Dell MS111 USB mouse - Dell QuietKey Keyboard We have two 26 LCD monitors per workstation already. This is an out the door quote with no corporate discount applied ... $5,679. Depending on your discount, the price for my company is $4,997.52 This may be a beast of a system for CoCreate (Creo). But our facility runs Catia, UGNX, ANSYS, SolidWorks, COSMOS/M, Maxwell, and Mentor Graphics along with a PLM software called TeamCenter that can store all of this workstation data. Our typical file sizes are over 100Mb for completed assemblies. Compared to 5 years ago, a workstation of this power was well over $12,000.
