density in structure three ?

hi,
I would like to have the density of each part displayed in a column of the structure three ! Is it possible because we can't know if parts have a density affected or not ?

Thanks for your answers

Re: density in structure three ?

Attached is a file called sd_browser_views.lsp. Store this file into your $usercustomizedir. (re)start OSDM.

Now you will have 2 additional browser views (hope you know about this topic).

The mass is not working right now. It looks like its not allowed to use sd-call-cmds here... but for the moment I do not know how to get the properties without sd-call-cmds. And I got some obscure errors when trying different.

Spend enough time on it. Hope you can continue.

$usercustomizedir ==> %APPDATA%\CoCreate\OSD_Modeling\15.00\

Re: density in structure three ?

Here is a dialog that I modified to give mass and density of all parts in an assembly and displays that information in the display window, not the structure browser. It allows to ignore or include parts in containers and will give a total mass for the assembly. Beware that it uses/displays instant density not contents density. Normally those are the same anyway but something to be aware of none the less.

BTW, I use v15.50 but this should work in v13 and newer.

Hope this helps,

Michael

Re: density in structure three ?

Wolfgang,

Did you succed with mass calculation in sd_browser_views.lsp ? I would be very interested but I don't know how to start with this problem.

Re: density in structure three ?

Hell!! How old is this tread? 20 years? 10 years? LOL

No, I did not continue with mass calculation in sd_browser_views.lsp

In addition I left CAD business more than 2 years ago. Nevertheless I still participate in some forums. But it's getting less and less.

so: no news from / for sd_browser_views.lsp from my side. - sorry
