Setting up ME10 on Windows XP with Calcomp Drawingslate II

Hello,

I have a question regarding configuring ME10 on Windows XP system with Calcomp Drawingslate II digitizer on COM1 using stylus as input device.

I've successfuly installed ME10 (version 10) as well as TabletWorks 10.05 driver where I have checked the all the boxes that configure the behaviour of the tablet (Mouse, Wintab, TabCon).

However, when I start ME10, the tablet seems to function only as mouse,
ie, I cannot use the menus, macros, commands, that have been defined on a specified portion of the tablet (I have a sheet of paper under plastic cover with commands, menus of ME10 - if needed I can provide a picture of it). As said I can use stylus like a mouse, moving to menus on the right hand side of the screen, but that's not much of a use as I'm using 22 inch screen

What needs to be done in ME10 in order to make tablet digitizer use ME10 commands as defined on the sheet of paper ?
Perhaps somekind of calibration of the tablet ?

Regards, Andrej

Re: Setting up ME10 on Windows XP with Calcomp Drawingslate II

Hello Andrej,

What you need to do is make sure the settings in the ME10.ini file are set to connect to the tablet. The ME10.ini file is normally located under the main ME10 folder in you Program Files/CoCreate folder.

Here are the two variables that need to be set:

[ME10 LOCATOR]
MELOCATORPORT=com1
MELOCATORDRIVER=wintab

Give this a try also I think that the tablet only works under the classic menu style of interface.

Cheers,
Thom
