CoCreate Drafting 2008 16.50

Hello everyone,

I am looking for the installer of CoCreate Drafting 2008, specifically version 16.50. An evaluation version (evaluate installer) would be perfectly fine if a full version is unavailable.

If anyone has access to this version or knows where I could download it, I would greatly appreciate your help. I need it for a specific project and have been unable to find a working link so far.

Why not using a more recent version? Any version of Drafting can read mi files of older versions.

We got license for that version, is there a free to use version I don't know?

Depends on your use case.

You can install Modeling PE 8.0 and use the Annotation Module. Drag and drop the MI file into the Annotation view port. (internally the command am_load_any_mi is called, which can handle very different situations).

It looks you can install a more recent Creo-Elements-Direct-Drafting version, but modify the shortcut / batch file by adding "-view" as start parameter. See here: https://ww3.cad.de/foren/ubb/Forum15/HTML/001830.shtml#000001.

My first attempt to find a 16.50 installation package in my backups/CDs etc. failed.

as far as I know:
● 16.00 was released May 2008
● 16.50 was released Apr 2010

Actually a work for a company using Solidworks, the have an old license software and use to manage ME10 files with the client installed on their PCs.
I can't figure how to migrate all files to another format.. so I need to mantain the 16.50 version on the new installed workstations..

If you have any hint, would be appreciated!

1. You should check first if your license server can still be started. For example, is the pc with the LAN address with which is configured the license server still present?


2. Check also in the License.conf file the version of ME10. One never knows, maybe a more recent version is present (that someone could find the executable), and nobody had the time to install this more recent version of ME10.


3. In your last message, what do you mean by "manage ME10 files"? Do you want to modify or view/print the files? In the later case, Wolgang gave you two solutions that need no license.

The license server is up and running.
I had to format a workstation with client running, I've some more ws with the software installed, but have no installer.. If I copy the installed gives many errors, as normal.
That's why I'm looking for the installer.

Any help?

You do have a copy of directory

C:\Program Files (x86)\CoCreate\CoCreate Drafting 2008 ??
C:\Program Files (x86)\CoCreate\CoCreate Drafting 16.50 ??

or what ever the out-of-the-box pathname might have been 15 years ago . . ??

There might be macro errors because of different path names...

a) the copy on your 'new' machine should be same full path as the source of the copy

b) make sure you don't have a "C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\PTC\Creo Elements Direct Drafting 16.5" directory for the time being.

c) if you have a log file from start up process, it might be helpful (to attach it here)

d) manipulate the 'startup.m' file in your 'program directory' and start writing a Drafting TRACE file to log all information into a FILE!

-> Add the line " trace del_old 'c:/temp/startup_drafting_log.txt' " at the beginning of that file.


e) do you see the user Interface of that copied Drafting Installation after confirming some error messages?
IF yes : what does the command "PROMPT_LIST SCREEN" display?

the pathnames in the file 'me10.ini' should also match to your current pathnames

Be aware that there are different m10.ini files in addition in subdir fluent_ui as well as in subdir old_ui ..

f) which kind of user interface do you try to start?
